Shades Of

Gratitude...

1. That I can pray for another
2. To be a present, sober mom
3. For choices in how I think
4. That pain is mandatory but suffering IS optional
5. For prayer
6. Friends and support
7. For my son's birthday bash this Saturday :)
8. For my finches Bill and Bob
9. To be able to laugh even when I am upset
10. For my job
11. The gift of another day
12. For so many great books that take me to bed and to sleep

Did you know...

Prayer is the act of communicating with a god or spirit in worship.[1] Specific forms of this may include praise, requesting guidance or assistance, confessing sins, as an act of reparation or an expression of one's thoughts and emotions. The words used in prayer may take the form of intercession, a hymn, incantation or a spontaneous utterance in the person's praying words. Praying can be done in public, as a group, or in private.

Most major religions in the world involve prayer in one way or another in their rituals. Although in many cases the act of prayer is ritualized and must be followed through a sometimes strict sequence of actions (even going as far as restricting who may pray), other religions, mainly the Abrahamic religions, teach that prayer can be done spontaneously by anyone at any moment.

I do believe anything--including prayer--done in concert with others, is often more productive than alone.

Yet, for me, prayer--me 'talking' with God--is so personal, I usually do it "my way".

Good, thoughtful blog.

My books take me to bed and to sleep too. I wish that I could get through 25 pages before nodding off.

Beautiful. Praying in small groups has been a new things for me. We can really feel the Spirit there with all of us focusing attention on the intentions.
